National Turfgrass Foundation Annual Conference 2003

'In Pursuit of Excellence'

National Turfgrass Foundation volunteers will again be hosting their Annual Conference 'In Pursuit of Excellence' at the Southport Theatre and Floral Hall Complex, Southport, England. This year's event will be staged from 3rd to 6th November 2003 inclusive and will, as in previous years, concentrate on research findings by some of the most distinguished researchers and agronomists in the world.

"Following the tremendous success of last year's conference, we are expanding the programme this year to cater to even wider academic interests. Our aim continues to be the provision of quality information in an interesting and entertaining format." reports Louise Clegg, one of the co-founder Trustees of the NTF. MartynJones.jpg

Many industry leaders generously support the aims of the NTF, a fact much appreciated by Martyn Jones, the other co-founder Trustee. "Our sponsors have demonstrated their dedication to research and development by their own innovative introductions and they also clearly show their commitment to education by their generous contributions to our conference programme. Amongst our primary sponsors this year are Toro UK, Floratine, and Ruffords Topdressing. To date, we have also attracted support from Scotts UK, Syngenta, GreenTech, TurfTrax, and Grass Science. These are all firms with track records for promoting education and we are very fortunate to have such enlightened companies in our industry."

Staged in conjunction with Cranfield University at Silsoe, the conference promises to maintain the standards established last year when more than three hundred delegates from seventeen countries attended. Even without its expanded programme, this year's event should be one of the highlights of any turf manager's education calendar.
