The Premier League, The FA and Government's Football Foundation has welcomed today's announcement from Government that a further £50million will be invested into community football facilities.

CEO Robert Sullivan commented:
"This announcement is great news for grassroots sport across
every community in England. Regardless of age, ability or
background, getting out and playing can have a transformative
impact on people's physical health and mental wellbeing. Sport
brings communities closer together. As we recover from the Covid-19
health crisis, our left-behind neighbourhoods need grassroots
football more than ever and better access to great places to
play."
"Too many opportunities to play the nation's favourite game are
lost each year because our pitches are not good enough. We need
better all-weather facilities, grass pitches, changing rooms,
sports pavilions and community hubs that are accessible and
welcoming to all. Alongside the ongoing investment from the Premier
League, The FA and Government, this additional £50m of funding,
which is the second tranche of the £550m already committed by
Government last year, will allow us to fund a range of new projects
identified within the Local Football Facility Plans we've created
for every community across England, targeting investment where it's
needed most."
