Four wheels on my flail

Tony Hawkinsin Industry News

AFC 4 wheeledMaintaining forestry and woodland areas, controlling dense vegetation such as brambles, bracken and long grass, calls for a heavy-duty ATV mower.

The Wessex AF and AFC flail mowers have been developed to meet the needs of contractors, farmers and estate owners for dealing with just these sorts of tasks, performing in demanding conditions year after year. The AF mower is the ideal flail partner behind ATV's and UTV's and offers four variations of wheel configuration.

For working close to fences, ditches and tracks the four-wheel version is the perfect choice as all the wheels are within the width of the machine, with the weight evenly distributed. The drawbar is floating and well within the limits of the ATV. In common with the other wheel options, with their side or centrally mounted engines, the four-wheel AF has a positive manual engagement clutch for optimum power transmission, ensuring high performance and long life. There are three Z section drive belts for maximum cutting power and the deck is built in 5mm steel plate for durability and strength.

The cutting height range is between 10mm and 160mm, with the heavy-duty 'Y' pattern flails making short work of mulching material, before evenly distributing it across the full width of the machine. Other features include a remote engine stop switch, simple screw-handle cutting height adjustment, an adjustable drawbar and swivelling ball hitch for increased safety.

The whole package offers a high quality ATV flail mower capable of taking on the toughest clearing tasks and representing another quality machine in the Wessex stable, the product of fifty-years of manufacturing. Broadwood International: 01420 478111 www.broadwoodintl.co.uk
