Major launch Contoura at the NEC

The Major Contoura is a trailed tractor mounted mower designed primarily for golf and amenity turf applications and has a 3.6m cutting width. It has a unique pivoting frame which allows the three mowing decks to follow the ground contours with ease thanks to the self-aligning spherical bearings.

The turf industry is under sustained pressure to deliver increased mowing productivity against a backdrop of budget cuts. "We've developed this mower following feedback from greenkeepers and other golf and turf industry professionals," explained John Murphy, Managing Director at Major Equipment. John continued: "The Contoura is quick to set up and user friendly to operate. The Contoura mower's maintenance costs are minimal in comparison to those associated with a cylinder mower."

The Major Contoura has full width rollers that follow undulations to give a consistent cut, in both hilly and less challenging terrains. The cutting height can easily be adjusted from 10 - 110mm making it ideal for fairway and rough turf maintenance and delivers a professional striped finish.

As with all Major Roller Mowers, the Contoura has a gear driven drive line, which eliminates the problems associated with belt driven mowers.

Other features include: a zero-turn ability, high blade tip speeds of 86m/s and the Major Tri-Cut blade system with protective undersole disc.
