Awards 2
Maxwell Amenity attended the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards last night, had an amazing time, and came home with an award!

The annual awards evening, one of the largest business events outside of London, was attended this year by more than 600 guests at Telford's International Centre. Twelve awards were handed out, including the two that Maxwell Amenity had been shortlisted for: Outstanding Customer Service and Apprentice of the Year.

The disappointment of missing out on the Customer Services award was lifted by the announcement that the company had been selected as the winner in the Apprentices category.

Maxwell Amenity Ltd is a medium sized business employing over 70 full-time staff. The company provides products and services to sports turf, landscaping and lawn care, including Premier League football clubs and high profile golf courses. Since a merger in 2009, the business has adopted a pro-active strategy of employing apprentices, skill developing them, and integrating them into a fast growing, vibrant, and challenging business. Working alongside Matrix Training & Development Ltd and Telford College of Art & Technology, 11 apprentices have been trained and taken on into different areas of the business in the last four years.

Pitchcare is the primary e-commerce trading site for Maxwell Amenity Ltd, specialising in professional turf care products and servicing a diverse range of customers, from national stadia, PGA golf courses, through to lawn care businesses and homeowners. In recent years, the business has invested in a dedicated customer service and logistics department, and has developed integrated customised software to manage customer issues. Today, Pitchcare is rated a 5* merchant on Google, with 100% review rating, whilst on Feefo a 98% service and 99% product rating has been achieved from 3000 customer reviews in the last 12 months.

Managing Director, Dave Saltman, was understandably delighted by the success of his teams, "We have strived to develop and improve in all areas of the company. This is the first time we have entered these awards and it is rewarding to have this sort of recognition from the business community. We are extremely proud of our staff and what we have achieved."

John Richards, Operations Director, spoke to the Shropshire Star about the win: "We are in a small community in Telford, and are in a semi-rural area which is difficult for people to get to. Bringing up your own youngsters into the workforce is crucial."
