Massey Ferguson has added a new agricultural specification compact tractor to its well-established 1500 Series line-up.

Known as the MF 1520A, the 19.5hp four-wheel drive tractor replaces the identically-powered MF 1519M within a newly-rationalised range which encompasses models from 19.5hp to 46hp in mechanical, hydrostatic and DynaQPS transmission versions.

Ideal for smaller-scale agricultural, horticultural and equine enterprises, the MF 1520A combines exceptionally compact dimensions and low weight with economical power output and good torque delivery across the speed range. To that end, the tractor features a new mechanical shuttle transmission with eight forward and eight reverse gears and has a mechanically-engaged 540rpm rear power take-off with mid-PTO offered as an option.

Among the upgrades found on the MF 1520A over its predecessor are significant improvements in operator comfort and space, an increase in fuel tank capacity from 25 litres to 28 litres and a greater rear linkage lift capacity, up from 540kg to 600kg. The result is a multi-purpose "baby" compact tractor capable of working harder and for longer with reduced driver effort and fatigue.

A notable feature of all Massey Ferguson agricultural specification compact tractors is a forward-folding ROPS positioned ahead of the ISO-mounted semi-flat operator's platform.
With its hinge point located below the level of the tractor's bonnet, the fully-folded ROPS on the MF 1520A enables comfortable tractor access to and working capabilities within low farm buildings and horticultural structures as well as beneath tree branches in fields and paddocks. When folded, the roll bar provides excellent protection also for the front end of the tractor.

Supplied with a single auxiliary valve as standard, the MF 1520A is priced from £11,820. It will be arriving from September onwards at Massey Ferguson dealers throughout the UK and Ireland from whom demonstrations and more information are readily available on request.
