Christine Johnsonin Training & Education

The Grounds Training Team are delighted to present their new course on Basic Lawn Care.

This 1-day course from Grounds Training has been developed in response to enquiries from clients and will be delivered by experienced turf professionals.

The course has been designed for anyone who wishes to create and maintain a quality natural turf feature. Typically, it will attract self-employed gardeners, keen domestic gardeners and those entering the lawn care market as professional technicians.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Create and maintain a quality lawn
  • Understand the basics of seasonal maintenance
  • Identify and control weeds, pests and diseases
  • Be aware of Health & Safety in relation to machinery and equipment

Consideration will be given to using the appropriate grass species, seeding, the correct sequence of maintenance operations, moss control, use of the right products at the right time, and other essential techniques.

Initial locations are currently being identified in Central and Southern England. Further details and a booking form will be available on the Grounds Training website www.groundstraining.com

Group courses, e.g. for teams of Lawn Care Professionals and a minimum of 6 participants, can usually be arranged on site at special rates.

Participants will earn a Pitchcare Certificate of Attendance.

Grounds Training are confident that their Basic Lawn Care course will appeal to enthusiastic gardeners, who appreciate that a healthy, green and well kept lawn provides the perfect compliment to thoughtful planting schemes. Indeed, the condition of the lawn can make - or break - the impact and effect of the garden.
