Parks departments could be scrapped in council restructure

The traditional parks department could come to an end under a new wave of restructuring known as strategic commissioning.

Westminster City Council already has plans to axe all its departments and replace them with a model of commissioning bodies and support units.

The new structure comes into force on 1 October and up to 270 jobs will be axed across the council.
