Pitchcare - as seen on TV

PaulAshcroft.jpgWe're used to seeing our MD make regular appearances in front of the camera, but it was the Pitchcare magazine's turn to make its TV debut last night, as BBC1's The One Show devoted part of its primetime slot to a feature about pitches, in readiness for Saturday's FA Cup Final.

Honing in on the ongoing issues with Wembley's pitch, footballer turned sports pundit Mark Bright visited Arsenal's Emirates Stadium to interview Paul Ashcroft, before heading north to Accrington Stanley's ground to interview Chief Executive Rob Heys, investigating how a club's budget and the weather affects pitch maintenance and quality.

OneShow.jpgHe then visited Myerscough College, interviewing staff and students to uncover the science behind sports turf surfaces. Its students are seen researching in the library, with a copy of the Pitchcare magazine as their reference point (20.12 into the programme).

You can watch the programme again here. The pitches feature begins 18 minutes in.
