Rothley Park Golf Club in Leicestershire is making good use of the two machines purchased during the winter months from BLEC Global.

Course manager Nigel Colley bought a 1.8metre BLEC Power Box Rake and and 1.5metre BLEC Laser Grader to use with their Toro SandPro.

"These machines are ideal for helping us to reconstruct our tees," says Nigel. "The compact nature of both the laser grader and the box rake allows precision accuracy in tight areas like tee boxes."

Nigel will be improving all 18 holes over the coming year, stripping the turf then cultivating and levelling before incorporating new soil with the power box rake and finishing the levels with the laser grader.

Since getting the BLEC Power Box Rake, staff at Rothley Park have used it to improve the stone bridle path they are responsible for - and they have also identified a number of areas they can improve during the coming months.

Rothley Park Golf Club is more than 100 years old and has always provided a challenge in a beautiful parkland setting.

The 18 holes are said to "meander on and on" as opposed to the usual "up and down" nature of other courses in the county.

Rothley Park is framed by mature indigenous trees and has a traditional-style clubhouse that has been fully modernised in recent years.
The first and 18th holes offer the perfect vista to relax with a drink and a meal.

"We are delighted that Nigel is getting good use from our machines," says BLEC managing director Gary Mumby. "They have been specifically designed for the golf course challenges that he is facing."
