As part of its five-year exclusive deal with Toro, Royal Liverpool Golf Club, venue for the Open in July, will be receiving extensive tournament support and the loan of additional course maintenance machinery for the duration of the event. This includes eight Flex 21 pedestrian greens machines, a Reelmaster 5400-D fairway mower, three ride-on Greensmaster 3250-Ds and two Workman utility vehicles.

Craig Gilholm, the club's links manager, is responsible for making sure the course is in peak condition for the Open. And he's been overseeing a good deal of work around the course in preparation for the massive event. "We've been rebuilding bunkers and returfing areas which have shown stress, such as walk-offs, pathways and high traffic areas," he says. "Otherwise it's regular maintenance. The Toro's do a really great job and I'm confident the Open will be a huge success here."

All support and equipment are supplied by local Toro dealer Cheshire Turf Machinery.
