Saltex First for TORO

Toro standThe recent Saltex grounds management show saw the biggest display of Toro turf maintenance machinery ever seen in one exhibit outside the United States.

The annual event, held at Windsor Racecourse, saw the two companies responsible for UK distribution of the brand - Hayter Limited and Lely UK - unite on a single stand to provide visitors with a unique opportunity to view the complete Toro range in one place, and backed by the full contingent of Toro experts to offer advice and support.

In total, 64 Toro machines were on show on Stand W1, with both brand new launches and established classics drawing in the crowds from both sides.

The Toro-owned distributor of grounds products, Hayter, showed off its newly introduced Toro LT3340 heavy-duty triple mower and Groundsmaster 3400 heavy-duty rotary mower. The recently launched Toro Groundsmaster 360 Quad Steer rotary mower also made its show debut. Also present was the Toro CT2140 compact turf triple mower and the Toro HoverPro Series of hover mowers.

Golf and fine turf machinery distributor Lely, meanwhile, showcased its revolutionary new Greensmaster TriFlex riding golf greensmowers, with the hybrid version gaining a great deal of attention. The arrival of the Workman MDX-D diesel utility vehicle to the popular mid-duty Workman MD range also impressed. Other recent introductions on show included the ProPass range of top-dressing and material-handling equipment, together with the ProCore SR Series of deep-tine aerators.

What's more, the Toro/Hayter 'residential' range of mowers and outdoor machinery was also on show on the adjacent stand. Though predominately aimed at the domestic market, these machines are used by turf professionals, making their appearance at the show an added bonus for anyone seeking smaller-scale equipment.

Commenting on the success of the united stands for Hayter, Toro's grounds marketing product manager Chris Cooper says: "Saltex is always a good platform to showcase new products and, with so many new products on display, this year's Toro stand really pulled in the crowds. With both new and current models on show, we were able to demonstrate the large variety of equipment that Toro has to offer, in one space at one time. Whilst the new LT3340 and TriFlex were certainly the main focus for much of the attention, we're very pleased with the constant flow of visitor traffic and enquiries for all models in the Toro range."

Lely's Toro general manager Peter Mansfield adds: "It was terrific to see such an impressive range of Toro machines all in one place - it's just not something you can see outside the main plant in Minneapolis or the major US golf shows. Regardless of their sector, be it golf, sports, grounds or local authority, visitors really enjoyed seeing the full spectrum of machines in one space and gained a valuable insight into the total Toro offering."

And proving just what a success the joint stand was, Hayter and Lely were delighted to win Gold in the IOG Saltex Stand Awards in its respective category - the icing on the cake after a very successful show!
