are bowls, cricket, rugby, football, golf and tennis.
With some perfect growing conditions at the end of August, the summer sports will be hoping for more of the same as they prepare for and undertake their crucial end of season renovations.
What is important however, to make the most of the conditions, is to ensure you have a plentiful supply of seed, loam, topdressings and fertiliser. These products are already in great demand, so don't leave it too late.
The quality and performance of next year's surfaces are very dependent on the success of the work now being undertaken - so good luck to all concerned.
Our diaries are here to offer some guidance on the work required during the coming month. They are not set in stone, and local conditions will determine the work schedule.
Don't forget, you can also use our Pitchcare Forum, where members can ask for and offer advice on the whole range of sports turf surfaces issues.
