MFC Cover 2.JPGWith more freezing weather forecast next week, Stuart Canvas has secured a hatrick of new business wins as football clubs across the country purchase frost covers. The new wins include providing frost covers for Bolton Wanderers, Middlesbrough FC and Stoke City FC. The covers are specifically designed to protect the ground from frost, enabling the team to train effectively whatever the weather.

Stuart Canvas, the UK's leading manufacturer of bespoke sports, commercial and industrial covers, was appointed to supply the covers after face to face meetings and demonstrations with the grounds staff at the clubs.

The GEO Textile Frost covers, made from a light-weight polyethylene material, were selected and specifically designed for each of the grounds as they are robust and can be deployed quickly and easily. In addition to their quick and easy deployment, the covers are designed to be reactive to -4 protecting the ground from frost.

Ed Stoddart, managing director of Stuart Canvas, "This year we have experienced some extremely cold weather and several heavy frosts which have affected some team's ability to train, resulting in them having to use their main stadiums which have under-soil heating. This is both expensive and can lead to pitch damage.

"Frost covers enable clubs to save money on not having to heat the main pitch, while still giving them the option to train 365 days a year and helping to protect their main pitch for important Premier League games."

Ed continues; "We are all football fans and so are delighted to be appointed to handle these projects. The team here were so keen to be involved in this work that we were able to deliver the finished and tested sheets only 2 weeks after the initial enquiry."
