Student wins Enterprise Ireland Award

Ransomes Jacobsen sponsored student, Richard Hayden, a postgraduate Masters engineering researcher at the Institute of Technology, Tralee in Co. Kerry has won the Enterprise Ireland Student Award for 2004.

The awards and the Euro 4,000 prize are sponsored by The Ulster Bank and Invest Northern Ireland and are designed to promote entrepreneurship among students by encouraging the development of sound business ideas which could lead to the formation of new companies.

Richard, who is sponsored by Ransomes Jacobsen, has been working closely with the Ipswich based turf equipment manufacturer for the past two years. One of his specialist projects has been the development of SUPERLEADER, a business intelligence solution which combines software, hardware and practical golf course management techniques. The system provides a host of management data that enables the busy course superintendent or manager to work more efficiently and cost-effectively. Already he has secured two customers for the new system.
