PR4093 Tadmarton Heath Golf ClubNorth Oxfordshire hidden gem Tadmarton Heath Golf Club has signed a new five-year agreement with Toro.

This traditional private members club is investing in the new machinery as part of a 10-year course improvement plan to retain and grow membership levels. And - says chairman Tim Nunneley - the club can only do that if the greenkeeping team has the kit it needs to keep course presentation and performance up to scratch.

"From a management perspective, we want to provide the best maintenance of the course and so rely on our equipment being up to standard to carry that out," he says. "Our machinery consultant Alastair Rathbone, whose input is invaluable, was satisfied that Toro was right for us and I don't think we could get a better deal. We continue to maintain membership despite the tough economic times because members appreciate the improvements, which in turn raise our profile among prospective members. Using the best helps us to provide the best - that's how we see it."

Course manager Brian Owen - who recently celebrated 20 years of working at the club - is delighted with the arrival of the new fleet, which includes a Greensmaster TriFlex greensmower. "We've had Toro in all the years I've been here, but used a mix of makes before switching to an operating lease with the last agreement. I was keen to go with Toro because the build quality is well known. We had all the competitors in, but Toro machinery is just that much better, and you get the service and backup. The new machines will help keep us moving forwards - we want to achieve a lot more for this club. And it's important we keep standards high to keep people coming here."
