The Golf Environment Awards 2021 Finalists

Golf Environment Awardsin Conservation & Ecology

Well, what a year it has been! As we announced that entries were open for this year's awards we never expected such an influx of impeccably high quality applications. We worried that there would be a struggle to receive enough entries to even make the Golf Environment Awards 2021 possible so thank you everyone for your applications, you made it happen.

This year, for the first time ever, the judging of the finalists and winners of the awards took place virtually with our team of partners and sponsors, many of whom joined Rowan and Sophie on their thousand mile plus GEA trip around the UK. There was laughter, a lot of head scratching (see our Twitter post) and almost tears, but the team finally decided which clubs and greenkeepers would make it through to be the finalists of the Golf Environment Awards 2021. It is our pleasure to announce them today.

We hope that you will all be able to join us as we announce the winners in our virtual awards ceremony, to be held on Wednesday 16th December 2020 at 4 pm. Stick the date and time in your diary and make sure you are there to champion the golf clubs that are doing all that they can to make golf greener.

Thank you to all who entered and thank you to all the clubs that we visited, physically and virtually. Thank you to past winners, finalists and supporters for continuing to share our posts on social media and flying the flag for the awards. Finally, a huge thank you to our partners, the R&A, and our sponsors Syngenta, Tillers Turf, Aquatrols, Ransomes Jacobsen and Wiedenmann, and our media support, BIGGA and the GCMA. Valued industry experts who we could not do this without.

Congratulations to all of this year's finalists - you did it! Now start preparing your speeches…

We will be sending out further details, including a link to join the awards ceremony soon. Please keep your eye on our Twitter (@golfenvawards) and other social media channels for further updates.

If you too would like the chance to win a £750 environmental grant and Foundation BASIS training, not to mention the prestige of a Golf Environment Award itself, make sure to submit an application for next year's awards which are, as always, free to enter for all!
