Linkage kitTurfmech Machinery has acquired the design, manufacturing and marketing rights to the three-point linkage kits developed originally by Scottish company, 3PointPower Ltd, for fitting to rear of the Toro Workman HD and John Deere ProGator work vehicles. The acquisition includes also the company's PTO kit for the JD ProGator.

Announcing the acquisition - which was completed on 21 July - Turfmech's managing director, Austin Jarrett, commented that the agreement encompassed the entire stock, trade, brands and intellectual property rights formerly owned by 3PointPower Ltd and its founder and owner, Shaun Reilly.

"We have been looking actively to further extend the Turfmech product range ever since the acquisition of the Allett mower brand back in 2007," commented Mr Jarrett. "The three- point linkage and PTO kits developed by 3PointPower Ltd for the Workman and ProGator are excellent products that greatly extend the capabilities of these two very popular vehicles.

"Under Turfmech's ownership, we will be looking to bring the kits to the notice of the widest possible audience to help existing and prospective Workman and ProGator users world-wide extract the maximum versatility and benefit from their turf vehicles."

Fitted quickly and easily to either vehicle without specialist tools, both three-point linkage kits offer a maximum lift capacity of 400kg at the ball ends and can accommodate most suitable compact tractor attachments equipped with a Category One hitch point. Such attachments could include aerators, brushes, rakes, scarifiers, spreaders, sprayers and a transport box.

The rear linkage is raised and lowered hydraulically using the work vehicle's existing bed lift system and has drop arms that can be adjusted for length and position to suit attachments of differing weights and dimensions.

The PTO kit for the John Deere ProGator uses the vehicle's hydraulic system to power a six spline 540/1,000rpm PTO shaft to drive attachments requiring a mechanical power input.

The kit comes fully assembled ready for easy installation.

Turfmech plans to sell boxed kits world-wide via its website and its own sales team as well as through John Deere and Toro dealers. Full assembly and fitting instructions are supplied with the kits to assist existing Workman HD and ProGator users and dealers who install a kit onto a new or existing vehicle on behalf of a customer. Any dealer interested in stocking or supplying the three-point linkage or PTO kit should contact Turfmech for terms.

The retail price of the three-point linkage kit for the Toro Workman is £1,515. A linkage kit for the John Deere ProGator is £1,620 while the PTO kit for the same vehicle is £770. All prices are subject to VAT at the prevailing standard rate.
