Banner Maxx II is the first turf fungicide to offer rainfastness in just 15 minutes - ensuring the systemic active is already safely in the leaf in case of rain.
Disease control trials on golf course greens showed no reduction in efficacy of results following 10mm of simulated rainfall 15-minutes after an application.
The propiconazole is transported via highly systemic movement in the leaf without relying on any vapour activity, which is inherently susceptible to environmental loss.
Enhanced rainfastness makes Banner Maxx II especially valuable in wet or high humidity conditions that create high risk conditions for Dollar Spot outbreaks.
The fast uptake stops disease and quickly prevents damage to leaf cells - enabling continued healthy photosynthetic activity to grow stronger turf.
The most effective results will be achieved by Banner Maxx II if it is applied when the disease is still in the early stages of development. It is recommended that application begins when conditions are favourable for disease infection and at the very beginning of disease symptom expression.
Propiconazole is rapidly absorbed by the assimilating parts of the plant, mostly within one hour of treatment. It is transported acropetally (upwards) in the xylem. This systemic translocation contributes to good distribution of the active ingredient within the plant tissue.
Propiconazole is a member of the DMI-fungicides group (demethylation inhibitors). These materials act on the fungal pathogen inside the plant at the stage of first haustoria formation and stop disease development by interfering with sterol biosynthesis in fungal cell membranes.
Propiconazole has protective, curative and eradicant activity.
