PDV Vacuum Salt
Clearing snow and ice from artificial sports pitches requires salt to be near a human consumption standard - often known as pure vacuum dried salt - as this product will be extremely low in any contaminants, and will act more readily and quickly on any frost build up.
Use with a compatible Salt Spreader.
How Much PDV Salt Should I Apply?
A full sized pitch will require up to one tonne of pure dried vacuum salt.
Application Rate
150g/m² is enough to clear ice and if applied before ice forms will provide adequate protection.
Alternative Uses of PDV Salt
PDV salt is an extremely versatile type of salt as it has such a wide application range. It is used during water treatment, dye and textile manufacture, shampoo manufacture and is even used in animal nutrition.
As pure dried vacuum salt is manufactured to strict hygiene standards, it is extremely pure; as a result, it is used as an important ingredient in the food industry, where it is used for flavour enhancement and food preservation.
