A Family Affair
Stephen Miller has been appointed Projects Manager for Cleveland Land Services Ltd. Stephen is the son of Managing Director John Miller and joined Cleveland as a site engineer last year. He qualified as a Civil Engineer from Teesside University in May 2006 and hopes to complete his Technician Membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers (TMICE) in May 2008.
During his study period Stephen has worked as a site engineer on several large scale projects such as the Crook by-pass with Balfour Beatty, Newton Bewley "Pig Sender & Receiver" project for British Petroleum, The West Auckland River Diversion and Drainage layer construction, and the A66 North East Package A Scheme - a dual carriageway contract.
"I am delighted that Stephen has joined the team at CLS" said John "The promotion to Project Manager follows an initial one year training period during which time he has showed enthusiasm and dedication. Stephen has been involved with CLS since childhood, so the new role is a great leap forward in his career. He has further proved his commitment to the industry by joining me at the LDCA (Land Drainage Contractors Association) as our Company representative where in the future he will be required to take an active role in promoting our interests.
Since re-joining CLS, Stephen has been able to apply the excellent training received from Balfour Beatty (His former employer) and develop the earthworks division, where with his supervision a number of sports facilities both in the North East and in Lancashire have been successfully completed. With both the ample engineering and managerial experience gained over the last four years, Stephen is more than ready to meet the considerable challenge and responsibility that comes with being a Project Manager."
