Bayer launches turf products ‘how to’ video series

Bayer have announced the launch of their first in a series of concise, free, instructional videos aimed at providing users with useful best practice information relating to the application of their turf related products.

"We're keen for people to get the best out of our products and as a result, we provide a lot of written guidelines relating to best practice as well as safety," explains Bayer's Turf Product Manager, Claire Matthewman. "The advantage that these short videos have is that they are free to view online and with many turf professionals using web enabled smart phones, it's our hope that users will be able to access these visual demonstrations while out in the field or on the course. These videos offer a short refresher and clarify how to apply the product for best results".

Produced in conjunction with distributor Maxwell Amenity, and to coincide with chafer grub and leatherjacket treatments getting underway over the coming months, the initial video concentrates on Bayer's insecticide Merit Turf, providing a wealth of information including its specific application rate and the importance of thoroughly irrigating after application to ensure that the product filters down into the thatch.

When using Merit Turf, an even, annual application across the whole turf area is vital in order to control the varying maturity levels of the pests within the soil.

The other videos in the series include Bayer's turf fungicide Chipco Green and their herbicides, Pistol and Finale.

Each video lasts around three minutes and features an overview of the pests, disease or weeds that particular product is designed to tackle, followed by information regarding the correct application rates, recommended equipment and how it should be calibrated, as well as appropriate post application measures. The videos conclude with the recommended safety precautions for each product.
