Wessex ProLine RMX480.jpgBuilding on the success of the Wessex ProLine RMX roller mower range, Broadwood has launched the new flagship RMX 480 roller mower in time for the 2010 grass-cutting season.

Designed for the super-fast fine mowing of sports pitches, parks and larger grass areas, the RMX 480 is a 4.8m/16' working width folding wing roller mower, which uses unique zone-hardened swinging 'GoldCut' blade tips to deliver a smooth, closely cropped cut in an extremely quick mowing time.

"Previously our largest roller mower was the RMX 360, which has proved to be a really popular choice with local councils and contractors," says Bill Browning, marketing manager at Broadwood. "With the extra width and the facility to fold to 2.4m for road transport the RMX 480 takes the Wessex ProLine RMX range into the big league, and gives the RMX range an even keener cutting edge coming into the grass season."

An additional feature that will appeal to contractors is that operators using the RMX range have the option of mounting the mower to a three point linkage or trailing the mower behind the tractor using the new Wessex ProGlider. Using a cleverly-designed suspension system, the ProGlider takes the rocking-horse effect out of road transport, and raises clear of the ground when not in work - contact Broadwood for more details.

The ProLine RMX 480 is a well-built machine with a 5mm steel deck, reinforced to 10mm at stress points. Oozing with quality, the RMX480 is powered by a tractor with 75+hp and the wings fold into and out of work hydraulically.

Each folding wing houses two rotors, and unlike other roller mowers which use complicated and fiddly height adjusters, the RMX 480 uses a simple and quick cut height adjustment which can be precisely set with just a spanner, giving a cut height of between 10 and 100mm.

Full width front and rear rollers work in conjunction with the upturn on the GoldCut blade tips to ensure updraught is maximised and clippings are evenly distributed across the full width of the mower.
