Compact topdresser leads stunning BTME line-up for Charterhouse (Stand B37)
Charterhouse Turf Machinery will showcase its leading edge turf maintenance machinery on stand B37 at BTME.
The brand new DS500 is a compact, versatile top dresser which can be mounted or trailed to work with tractors or other turf care vehicles. For course managers demanding more control over top dressing applications and the ability to put on lighter coverings on a regular basis, precise hydraulic controls to both the conveyor and spinning discs give an excellent spread pattern. Spreading width is up to 9 meters and hopper capacity is 485 litres.
Weighing in at 420kg, the dresser is easily handled by existing golf course tractors or mounted onto a utility vehicle, with a minimum hydraulic requirement of 25 l/min at140 bar.
Making its BTME debut, the Verti-Cut 1200 dethatcher can be equipped with a powerful and reliable 5.5hp Briggs & Stratton engine for towing behind a utility vehicle or powered from a tractor PTO, giving greenkeepers the flexibility to choose a solution to meet their needs. The Verti-Cut 1200 offers a 1.2m (48in) working width for increased productivity, and depending on ground conditions can work to 25mm (1in) deep.
The latest Verti-Drain model is always a highlight of Charterhouse's exhibition stands, and turf managers can't fail to be impressed with the new high speed 2216 which can decompact to 24cm (9.5in) for the ultimate in deep aeration and shattering throughout the sub-surface layer.
Utilising proven Verti-Drain technology alongside the latest designs, the 2216 can decompact much more quickly and efficiently, while giving the opportunity to work deeper when required and at 1.6m wide it is the perfect size for productivity on the golf course.
With spring on the way, thoughts turn to improving turf quality by overseeding and the Speedseed 1600 is ideal for sports grounds and golf courses where economy and random seed dispersement are the priorities.
The Speedseed overseeder produces thousands of holes, delivers the seed and brushes it in, all within a single operation.
Spikes on the roller are conical in shape, so that more seed actually drops into the holes. A new feed system allows all types of seed to be sown including bents, and seed is only released when the ground wheel turns, so there is no risk of wasted seed. Optional, a 2nd roller with spikes can be added for doubling the amount of holes per pass.
With operating speeds up to 7.5 miles per hour, the Speedseed 1600 provides fast, accurate and economical overseeding.
"From introduction of a useful compact model to the top dresser range to the latest Verti-Drain, we have an exciting range of products on offer at BTME and we look forward to discussing the needs of turf managers at the show," said Charterhouse Turf Machinery General Manager Nick Darking.
