Cricket club loses £10,565
After being rocked by one of the wettest summers for years and finishing bottom of the Lancashire League, Colne Cricket Club was dealt another bouncer at the annual meeting on Thursday night when the balance sheet revealed a loss of £10,565 for the year to September 30th.
The accounts showed the club bar lost £9,225 over the 12 months, while the cricket club deficit was £1,340.
It was the second major loss in a row at the Horsfield - in 2007, the club lost £4,734.
The bar account showed a fall in receipts of almost £3,500 and a rise of more than £1,000 in the cost of heating, lighting and water.
Insurance and telephone costs also went up, but there was a reduction in repair expenditure and entertainment expenses.
