E-Z-GO Celebrates Diamond Anniversary
E-Z-GO, headquartered in Augusta, GA and distributed across Europe by Ransomes Jacobsen, is celebrating its 60th anniversary during 2014.
The company was founded by brothers and Army veterans Bev and Billy Dolan on June 13, 1954, in a one-room machine shop in Grovetown, near Augusta in Georgia.
The first E-Z-GO golf cars, dubbed the Model 100, were built using surplus 24-volt electric motors originally intended to power wingflaps on the B-17 Flying Fortress. From those humble beginnings, E-Z-GO has grown into a global leader in the design and manufacture of light-transportation vehicles.
Today, E-Z-GO manufactures more than 50 different vehicle models across the E-Z-GO, Cushman and Bad Boy Buggies brands, for industries and environments ranging from golf courses and resorts, to factories and commercial campuses, to designated paths and off-road trails.
"We are delighted to be celebrating our diamond anniversary this year, which marks six decades of leadership in light transportation and service to the golf industry," said E-Z-GO President Kevin Holleran. "Our success would not be possible without the support of our customers in the golf industry, many of whom have been loyal to E-Z-GO throughout its existence.
