Breck Farm 0012.jpgRichard Amies and his wife Maureen, who run Breck Farm near Holt in Norfolk, are the proud owners of a new Iseki SXG ride-on rotary mower after winning a national competition organised by Pig & Poultry Marketing magazine. The Iseki mower is marketed in the UK by Ransomes Jacobsen, the turf maintenance equipment manufacturer based in Ipswich.

Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty between the villages of Weybourne and Bodham in North Norfolk, the family-owned farm produces free-range eggs, barley, potatoes and sugar beet and also includes a Caravan Club approved campsite. The facilities are of the highest standard and include toilets, showers, a washing up area and chemical toilet disposal. Currently the Amies are building a new 34-unit shower and toilet block to enhance the appeal of Breck Farm.

Mr Amies entered the competition back in July and was delighted, if not surprised, to receive a telephone call recently advising him that he had won the ride-on mower.

"I was stunned when I received the phone call," he said. "I'd completely forgotten that I'd entered the competition. Having now seen the machine, it's obvious that it's an excellent piece of equipment and I particularly like the fact that it has a diesel engine and a collection system.

"As a family we have been running the campsite site for 50 years and pride ourselves on the fact that some of our customers have been coming back here for 25 years! We have 6 acres of grass for camping and caravanners, so this new mower will be a very useful addition, especially with the collection unit on the back. It will enable us to remove the grass clippings from around the caravans and tents and help us keep the site in pristine condition."
