FENDT Promotes Affordable Quality and Performance
Fendt is looking to its new 200 Vario tractor range to spearhead the company's entry into the grounds care, landscaping and amenity sector.
Comprising five models with maximum engine outputs from 70hp to 110hp, the Fendt 200 Vario range is aimed at users looking for a high quality, high performance tractor with exceptional fuel economy and driving efficiency, key attributes made possible primarily by the use of Fendt's acclaimed Vario stepless continuously variable transmission.
Fitted to more than 100,000 Fendt tractors built since the mid 1990s, Vario transmission is now standard across the company's entire range following the launch of the 200 Vario series.
Widely respected throughout the agricultural sector, Fendt tractors have established a strong reputation for their build quality, operating efficiency and productivity, features which have helped make the company the top-selling brand in Germany, number two in France and number one in the UK for tractors of 200hp-plus.
In targeting the grounds maintenance sector with its new 200 Vario series, Fendt is aiming to show customers that the cost of a tractor should not be based solely on purchase price.
"The relatively low cost of owning a Fendt over its working life is likely to surprise many people who believe that the high build quality and technology found on Fendt tractors makes them expensive both to own and run," points out Richard Shelton, National Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland. "In fact, quite the opposite is true, as proven over many years by thousands of Fendt owners and operators engaged in agriculture and field-scale horticulture."
Mr Shelton explained that the quality of the engineering and standard features on Fendt tractors placed a premium on pre-owned models, helping keep residual values high for the benefit of those trading-in a Fendt for a new model.
The second factor helping reduce ownership costs is the advanced technology and control systems built into Fendt tractors, all of which are designed to improve operating efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
Taking the Vario transmission as an example, Mr Shelton said that the clutchless, stepless system enables tasks to be performed faster and more effectively, while providing the capability to set optimum ground speed independent of engine speed within a range from 20 metres/hr to 40km/hr. Add Fendt's optional Tractor Management System (TMS) and the engine is regulated continuously to run always at the optimum speed for the specific job being carried out, further maximising fuel efficiency and enhancing ride comfort.
"Complemented by its compact dimensions, excellent driver comfort and high power-to-weight ratio, Fendt's 200 Vario series is set to bring to the grounds care sector a new dimension in tractor performance, productivity and economy of operation," commented Mr Shelton.
"We believe that many people will be greatly surprised at the low cost of Fendt ownership and we invite local authorities, contractors and other grounds maintenance professionals to take a close look at the Fendt 200 Vario range and discover for themselves the many benefits that a Fendt tractor can bring to their year-round operations."
