Government advisory comitee on Pesticides opens its doors to the public
The Committee which advises Government on the safety of pesticides is offering an opportunity for the public to meet members of the Committee and ask questions about their work. This will take place at an open meeting on 13 November 2006. The main topic of the meeting will be 'Uncertainty and Dose Response.'
The Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP) is the Government's source of independent advice on the safety and efficacy of pesticides. The ACP is committed to developing strategies to explain its activities and work to the general public in the most appropriate manner.
The meeting will be held on Monday 13th November 2006 at the Monk Bar Hotel, York from 2.00 pm to approx. 5.00 pm. Attendees are invited to submit written questions in advance.
Admittance is by ticket only, allocated to named individuals, which can be obtained in writing from The ACP Secretariat, Room 107 Mallard House, Kings Pool, 3 Peasholme Green, York YO1 7PX, by email: acp@psd.defra.gsi.gov.uk or by phone, 01904 455702.
Tickets are allocated on a first come first served basis and will be sent out, with papers for the meeting, after the closing date of Monday 16 October. Please remember to include your postal address.

The ACP is a statutory body set up under Section 16(7) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 to advise Ministers on any matter relating to the control of pests in furthering the general purposes of Part III of the Act.
