Karl Geary takes new role at Vitax
Karl Geary takes over from Mike Shephard as Vitax Technical Representative for the Midlands.
Well prepared for his new role, Karl has spent the last four years as Technical officer for the company, writing soil reports for golf clubs, local authorities and nurseries, and answering technical enquiries from customers.
"It was an ideal stepping stone," he says. "I was able to build up my product knowledge and familiarise myself with every department in the company."
A former Groundsman who has also worked in commercial nurseries, Karl played cricket in South Africa and represented the Leicester Cricket Board between studies for his HND in horticulture gained at Writtle Agricultural College.
Having spent two months working alongside Mike Shephard (before his retirement), Karl is keen to develop his new patch. "I'm enjoying getting out on the road and meeting people," he says.
