The Hampden Park groundsman will not suffer the same fate as his English counterpart, despite the weekend's Homecoming Scottish Cup semi-finals being spoiled by a sub-standard surface.

Ally McCoist, the Rangers assistant manager, led the calls for another overhaul of the turf - it was relaid at a cost of £125,000 before last month's Co-operative Insurance Cup final - after his team's 3-0 win against St Mirren was spoiled by players slipping and sliding.
