Limagrain’s sports recovery mixture hailed a success

MM 75R was developed to be oversown into sports pitches in winter or spring to give fast repair of worn and damaged areas. It is also ideal for the repairing of divots on racecourses.

Limagrain's Matt Gresty explains: "The MM 75R seed mixture contains the variety Matrix which germinates and grows at lower temperatures than other grasses, providing groundsmen with an opportunity to restore ground cover on pitches and racecourses, in the early part of the year."

Since its launch in 2012, a combination of further trialwork and commercial experience have continued to demonstrate its qualities: the photograph shows the larger roots and better shoot development, on the left, of the MM 75R grasses at 14 days post-sowing, compared to those of another 'recovery mixture'.

Mr Gresty adds: "Groundsmen that trialled MM 75R last year were impressed by its performance and the consequent improvement it gave their pitches during the second half of the playing season."

MM 75R is one of the amenity seed mixtures in Limagrain's MM range. As with the other grass mixtures, seed is treated with Headstart to provide rapid germination to achieve fast establishment and ground cover.
