Lindum's Instant Meadow
Lindum launched Lindum Wildflower, a ready made, living meadow, utilising the company's Grassfelt technology.
Wild flowers such as cats ear, oxeye daisy, yarrow and ladies bedstraw combined with grasses in Lindum's moisture retentive biodegradable felt base, give all the practical benefits of Grassfelt to a wild flower meadow.
M.D. Stephen Fell says that the felt acts as mulch and suppresses other weed and grass growth that could threaten a meadow sown in the conventional way. "We have used less aggressive grasses such as meadow foxtail and sheep's fescue," he explains, "which means that the flowers are free to establish. As the felt biodegrades slowly, the meadow has ample time to establish into the substrate below, through its protective blanket"
Lindum Wildflower contains more than 20 species to provide a colourful display over a prolonged flowering period, but these can be changed according to soil type and location. Suitable for local authority environmental planting schemes, private gardens, green roofs and golf courses, Grassfelt's stabilizing qualities mean that the product is also ideal for roadside embankments and steep slopes or mounds on numerous landscaping projects.
Lindum Wildflower is available in variable roll sizes up to 2m wide x 20m long.
