john deere John Deere has appointed Masons as its newest full line commercial & consumer equipment (C&CE) dealer, covering south Devon. The new professional groundscare division is based at Masons' existing premises at Rixey Park, Kingsteignton Road in Newton Abbot.

Masons has been a machinery dealership for 32 years, a John Deere agricultural dealer for over 22, and has sold domestic equipment for more than 10 years. It has also been rated a Gold Super Service dealer for the last 15 years, based on John Deere's annual appraisal of the quality and efficiency of the dealership's parts and service support for its customers.

This new appointment means that Masons is now able to sell and service John Deere's full range of professional golf and turf equipment, in addition to walk-behind lawnmowers, scarifiers and ride-on garden tractors. This includes advanced technology compact tractors, loaders and attachments, a complete range of walk-behind and ride-on cylinder and rotary mowers, specialist machines such as aerators, sprayers and bunker rakes, and the award winning Gator utility vehicle range.

"We are delighted to be able to expand our business into this new area, which will enable us to offer a more comprehensive local service," says Masons owner and director Roger Prior, who bought the company over 18 months ago and has since invested in improvements to the retail showroom and general dealership facilities.

"We intend to continue providing the same high level of sales, service and parts support to our new amenity and groundscare customers, be they golf clubs, caravan and holiday parks, local authorities, contractors or private landowners. We already have wide experience in dealing with both residential and professional customers, and our aim is always to offer the best advice, the best equipment and the best value for money."

Masons recently appointed Clive Ralph as its new groundscare equipment salesman. Clive has more than 25 years' experience of sales in the professional golf and turf market, and joins two specialist service technicians, Mike Young and Jason Wignall, in the dealership's groundscare team led by manager Nick Morgan. Masons employs 28 people in all across both the agricultural and groundscare divisions of the business.
