New E-Z-GO Golf Cars for Hagley Golf & Country Club
Hagley Golf and Country Club, situated close to Stourbridge and just 5 miles southwest of Birmingham, has purchased a small fleet of
E-Z-GO RXV electric golf cars from local dealer, TH White Ltd of Redditch.
Hagley is an 18-hole parkland course of 6,376 yards set in the shadow of the picturesque Clent Hills. It opened in 1980 as a nine-hole course with a second nine added in 1984, and is renowned for it's signature hole, the 557 yard 15th, known as The Monster. In December 2008 the club opened a 28 bay driving range and practice facility, which includes a synthetic short game area complete with two bunkers for chipping and putting. In early November 2009, less than a year after opening, three million practice balls had been despatched down the range.
"We have been running a small buggy fleet prior to the purchase of these four electric RXVs and we now have six available for hire. Buggy income has risen significantly and has fully justified the investment," said the Club's PGA Professional Paul Johnson.
Peter Johnson, Managing Director of the family-owned club comments, "With the new facilities that have come on stream in the 18 months, we are now a one-stop shop for golfers in the area; they can practice or play all year round, whatever the weather. This new RXV buggy is extremely cost effective to operate as we are getting at least two rounds per overnight charge. It negates all of the HSE issues associated with the storage of petrol and the hassle of collecting fuel from local service stations. The automatic braking system is an excellent feature and as they come with a four year warranty we should have good residuals, when we come to change again."
