North Staffs complete installation at Wychwood Village

By Ellie Tait

North Staffs Irrigation has completed the installation of an irrigation system on the new golf course at Wychwood Village, the second phase of Countryside Properties' exclusive housing and leisure development at Wychwood Park near Nantwich, Cheshire.

Taking water from an irrigation reservoir, Hunter sprinklers and a two-zone Logic Aquarius 2400 control system will provide irrigation to the greens, tees and approaches on the 18-hole course.

The installation, overseen by constructor John Greasley and irrigation consultant Giles Wardle, took place during a four-month window during the summer and was completed on schedule. After a growing-in period, the course is due to be open for play during summer 2005.

Wychwood Village set alongside the new course, will comprise 315 luxury homes set amongst 35 acres of country park. It's adjacent to Wychwood Park, an exclusive, private residential community built in a secluded rural setting, comprising 290 luxury homes and an 18-hole PGA European Tour standard golf course, which opened in July 2002.
