New John Deere Fleet for Guernsey GC

IMG_4493.JPGLa Grande Mare Hotel Golf and Country Club in Guernsey have recently renewed their operating lease of John Deere mowing and maintenance vehicles, after having a three year deal in place previously, they have decided to go with a five year deal this time through local JD dealer Rabey's Commercial Vehicles.

Course manager Martyn Savident explains, " Because of the quality of build, strength and ease of maintenance we were saying goodbye to machines that were in tip top condition and performing as good as the day they arrived, with some, especially the two greens mowers having less than 1000 hrs on the clocks (hardly run in). It was with this in mind that we decided on a longer term of lease, we are more than confident in the performance of the new fleet, especially with the back up of Rabey's.

With the new quick adjust cutting units, groomers and rear roller power brushes on both the 2500B greens triplex, the 7200 precision cut tees and surrounds mower and the 7500precision cut fairway mower, there has been a significant improvement in presentation.

The semi and rough is cut with a 1565 front rotary with a 72 inch side discharge deck and the bunkers are raked with a Hydro 1200 bunker rake with a mid mounted scarifier, the fleet is finished up with two TX turf gators."

La Grande Mare golf course, because of its low lying situation and miles of open ditches only shows signs of drying in the most extreme conditions so cutting the course is regular all year round," we employ a student during the summer from June till end of September just to keep on top of the rough" says Martyn.
