New Season, New Equipment for Dundee City Council
In preparation for the new season the Leisure and Arts Department of Dundee City Council added two new ride-on triple mowers and a trailed gangmower to their grounds maintenance fleet.
The two new ride-on machines are Ransomes Parkways and the trailed gang is a Ransomes TG4650. All have been purchased from local dealer Fairways of Kinross and will be used to maintain cemeteries, sports pitches, public parks, athletic facilities and the esplanades along the beach fronts.
Douglas Barr, Assistant Parks & Outdoor Leisure Manager commented at the handover of the machines,"We now have four Parkways plus the Ransomes TG4650, which will give us more capacity during the season together with more grass cutting control. This is important because as a department we have recently taken over responsibility for mowing operations within all the public parks, cemeteries and Camperdown Country Park. We have also employed two additional staff to assist in the operations and now have the ability to control the frequency of cutting to help us achieve our Best Value objectives."
