The greenkeepers training comittee

The GTC is pleased to announce the release of a revised set of best practice learning materials for all levels of student greenkeepers and groundsmen/women.

The original sets of learning materials were produced using subject specialist authors in 2003/04 and the comprehensive review is now complete.

David Golding, GTC's Education Director explains "each of the original 16 chapters has been meticulously updated by specialists from within the sports turf industry and, due to an increasing demand for the GTC's highly acclaimed learning materials from overseas, it was suggested we should look to add an additional chapter on the establishment and maintenance of warm season grasses.

David added, "Changes in technology, equipment and machinery since 2004 have required an extensive updating to several chapters but the support for this review has been overwhelming".

The GTC has ensured the materials are suitable for apprentices to golf course managers with all subjects comprehensively covered.

However, the materials, based on best principles and practices for golf course maintenance and management are now available to purchase in pdf or CD Rom format to anyone through the GTC website www.the-gtc.co.uk

All GTC's Quality Assured Centres will receive a free copy of the two sets of learning materials as per an agreement, for use with all sports turf students on the various courses.
