The Racecourse Association celebrates racecourse groundstaff through #GroundsWeek
The Racecourse Association (RCA) is joining with the Grounds Management Association (GMA) to celebrate #GroundsWeek from Monday 23rd March-Sunday 29th March.

#GroundsWeek is the GMA’s annual campaign designed to showcase the work and dedication of groundstaff teams across Britain.
The RCA is proud to support #GroundsWeek. All RCA member racecourses possess unique racing surfaces which are maintained to optimum standards by highly skilled and dedicated teams. With flat, jump, dual-purpose and all-weather racecourses to prepare and lawns, parade rings and flowerbeds to maintain, the role of racecourse grounds teams across Britain is varied, with the unifying factor being their year-round commitment to providing a safe surface for participants.
To celebrate #GroundsWeek, the RCA is producing two episodes of its new podcast series Talk of the Course. In these, the team talk all things turf management and groundstaff with two racing industry experts. These episodes, set to be released later this week, will be available on the RCA’s YouTube channel, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. In addition, the RCA will share a blog looking back on this year’s RCA Medical, Veterinary and Turf Management Conference as part of our On Track series.
As well as #GroundsWeek, the RCA celebrates groundstaff annually via the Racecourse Groundstaff Awards. The original, and only recognised industry awards for racecourse groundstaff, the awards celebrate the best of the profession both on an individual and team level considering surface preparation, turf husbandry and overall contribution to British horseracing.
