Turf care company in running for top UK business award

A fast-growing supplier of biological solutions for turf health is due to line-up against some of the UK's most successful companies in a bid to be recognised as the country's most promising new business.

The Great Turf Company, headquartered in Fife, Scotland achieved the Fife Chamber of Commerce "Success through Innovation" award last year and has now won the British Chamber of Commerce's "Scotland's Most Promising New Business Award", sponsored by BT Business. And now the company hopes to grow this a UK title at the annual Chamber Awards in November.

Since its launch just over a year ago, The Great Turf Company has grown significantly, supplying a number of leading venues, including Premiership football clubs and Open Championship golf courses. This growth has been achieved by pioneering their unique Activated Microbial Turf Management programme, which includes a complete portfolio of 100% natural fertilisers and microbial activators renowned for producing high quality playing surfaces by 'feeding the soil' and maintaining a healthy soil environment, which is key to healthy turf.

The business has recently launched its products in Norway and Sweden and has big ambitions for future expansion with plans to introduce its ethos and products into more international markets and to develop its current product and service portfolio.

By reaching the UK finals, the Great Turf Company will also be considered for the award for "Outstanding Business Achievement", accompanied by a 1st prize of £25,000.
