Turkish Joint Venture gets a great start at Growtech
A new Joint Venture aimed at the Turkish and Middle East markets got off to a flying start at the Growtech trade exhibition held in Antalya, Turkey at the beginning of December.
The new venture, which already has warehousing facilities in Antalya, involves Vitax and sister company Hortifeeds with Unitrade International, which has bases in Turkey and Holland. Its aim is to bring a comprehensive range of Hortifeeds fertilisers for professional growers and Vitax specialist turf fertilisers and Supaturf line marking equipment to the vibrant Turkish and Middle East horticultural and sports and amenity markets.
Growtech, the biggest horticultural exhibition in the region, provided a perfect launch pad for the joint venture and the colourful, 65 m² purpose-built stand made an emphatic statement about the seriousness of the joint venture's intentions.
Daniel Wilkinson, Managing Director of Hortifeeds, said that Growtech was probably the busiest trade exhibition he had attended. "During the four days of the show, over 70,000 people attended and we were constantly busy with visitors from throughout Turkey and from many Middle Eastern companies, including Egypt, Syria and Lebanon.
"Our colleagues at Unitrade International had done a fantastic job promoting the launch of our products in Turkey and as a result we had a great many visitors who didn't just come to have a look, they came to do business.
"Based on the responses from all the visitors, the new joint venture is destined for great things," he added.
Can Aytug, a director of Unitrade International said: "Unitrade is delighted with the results of the Growtech Exhibition which provided an ideal launch pad for our joint venture with Hortifeeds and Vitax.
"We had a remarkable number of visitors to the stand and, without exception, they were all impressed with the high quality fertilisers and associated products from Hortifeeds and with the specialist turf and line marking products from Vitax and Supaturf.
"Growtech provided an excellent introduction to these products for potential clients from throughout Turkey and the Middle East and we are confident we can now look forward to a very successful future."
