Rotary Hand Seed Slotter
The BMS Rotary Seed Slotter is a precision overseeding tool that cuts perfectly flat-bottomed slots ½ in (≈ 13 mm) deep - exactly where bent and fine-turf grasses germinate best. Its rotary drum creates thousands of uniform pockets in minutes, giving greenkeepers and grounds staff a faster, more seed-efficient way to repair disease scars, dry patches, and thin areas.
NB: Now only available with a split handle.

How it works
- Run the Rotary Seed Slotter over the target area to create flat-bottom slots

Delivery charge (if applicable) applied at checkout. Next working day delivery is available on some products, as an option on orders placed before 1pm - excludes festive season & bank holidays. We require deliveries to be signed for. If no one is available to sign for your delivery, you may request it is left in a safe place by leaving a signed note for the driver, requesting the item is left without a signature. Please note that this is left at your own risk and at the driver's discretion.
For large orders, please be aware that if you require a smaller 7.5 tonne lorry, the maximum weight for pallets is 750 kg - otherwise the standard pallet size limit of 1000 kg applies.
Please note:
- For deliveries that require a pallet, the pallet/packaging itself is the customer's responsibility and will not be uplifted or taken upon delivery.
- Deliveries are kerb side only.
- It is possible a pallet order can be delivered on a vehicle up to the size of a 26T lorry.

"Can’t fault the service, excellent. However on using equipment became very quickly clogged with mud and it was quite an irritating effort to constantly clear the mud out from between the slots. The ground needs to be soft enough for the slots to penetrate the soil but the trade of unfortunately is they become clogged with mud any drier and you won’t get the necessary penetration ."

Not as good as I had hoped
"Definitely makes small indentations in the ground but the grass seed I was using didn't actually fall into them to any great extent. I was using the tool on wet firm ground and found that the foot pedal has to be sued a lot to get the indentations to any depth. Simply rolling the tool backwards and forwards has little effect. I suspect that a rotary spiked tool would be easier to use and provide a better bed for grass seed."
