2016 International Creative Lawn Stripes Competition sponsored by Allett Mowers

With the winter now behind us, lawnmowers across the country are about to come out of hibernation ready to tidy lawns and return gardens to their former glory.

To mark this, Allett Mowers has launched its search to find the most creative grass stripes and patterns in the world! The quintessentially British striped lawn is idealised across the world and, in celebration of this, Allett Mowers has opened the competition internationally.

Allett Mowers is a leading manufacturer of cylinder, walk-behind mowers - the ultimate tool for creating perfect stripes. The first Allett mower was launched in 1965 and the brand has since firmly established itself as being synonymous with creating stripes on lawns and sports grounds around the world.

The 2016 International Creative Lawn Stripes Competition encourages anyone with a flair for creativity and pride in their turf to enter and compete for the title, creating the most aesthetically pleasing striped turf in the world. The competition will be judged by Simon Bagnall, Head of Gardens and Grounds at Worcester College, responsible for its stunning grounds.

The winner will receive an Allett Kensington 17K lawnmower, along with the complete Allett Lawn Care System of six interchangeable cartridges consisting of an aerator, a scarifier, a lawn brush, a dethatcher, a verticutter and a 10-bladed cartridge. They will also receive two stands to conveniently store the cartridges concerned.

The second prize is an Allett Kensington 17K lawnmower and the third prize will be a Sandringham 14E or Sandringham 14E-EU.

Austin Jarrett, managing director of Allett, commented: "We can't wait to see some of the creations. All entries are welcome, no matter how big or small the lawn, golf course, park, pitch or field .We will be looking for the most creative, eye catching design that truly shows off the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into grass maintenance."

To enter the their competition entrants simply have to email a photograph of their creation to sales@allett.co.uk, along with their name and full address.

The competition will close at midnight GMT on the 31st August 2016.
