Ben Lomond Gin, the Official Gin of The Open, has launched its search for the Official Serve of The 155th Open, inviting people from across the golf and hospitality industries to create a cocktail that will be served at St Andrews next summer.

With The Open returning to the Home of Golf in 2027, entrants are being challenged to create a serve inspired by St Andrews, whether through its famous links, coastline, golfing heritage, local community or their own connection to one of the most iconic locations in the sport.

Entries are open to all, offering the opportunity to put their creativity to the test and create a serve that could become part of The Open at St Andrews.

The winning cocktail will become the Official Serve of The Open, served to spectators as the world’s best golfers compete for the Claret Jug at St Andrews.

At the heart of each creation must be Ben Lomond Scottish Gin, with entrants encouraged to create a refreshing long serve that showcases the gin’s bold, balanced and versatile flavour. The drink should also be simple enough to produce at scale during Championship week, while entrants are asked to give their creation a name and story that connects with St Andrews and its surroundings.

The competition follows the success of the 2026 winning serve, the Solstice Sling, created by Branford Edgar of Kelvingrove Café in Glasgow and served to spectators at The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale.

“The return of The Open to St Andrews makes this year’s competition particularly special” said Elsie Cinnamond, Drinks Development Lead at Ben Lomond Gin. “We want people to take inspiration from everything that makes the Home of Golf so iconic and translate that into a serve that thousands of golf fans can enjoy next summer.”

“Whether you work behind the bar at a golf club, within a golf resort or elsewhere in hospitality, we want to see your creativity and hear the story behind your serve. You don’t need to be an expert mixologist – we’re looking for great flavour, a great story and something that captures the spirit of St Andrews.”

The winner will receive £1,000, a Ben Lomond Gin hamper and two VIP Hospitality tickets to The 155th Open, as well as seeing their creation become the Official Serve of The Open. They will also join Ben Lomond Gin at the Championship as a brand ambassador.

Public entries close on 12 October.

Successful qualifiers will progress to the final at Luss Distillery on 3 November 2026.
