HSS Groundcare grind to a halt
By Editor
The HSS Groundcare division, launched as a separate company to HSS hire shops was wound up yesterday (Tuesday 1st July 2003).
However it's not all bad news as the HSS hire company are merely dropping the Groundcare name and continuing to supply groundcare hire equipment to the Grounds Industry, distributing machinery from centralised depots across the country to over 400 existing hire outlets.
An HSS spokesman said today, " Since our launch there has been a strategy re-think and we will be absorbing the machine stocks into our existing hire outlets. Instead of having separate outlets, staff, delivery vehicles, it makes economic sense to bring the Groundcare business in-house. We feel that we can provide a far superior service to our customers now; and more importantly Groundsmen and Greenkeepers will be able to walk into their local HSS hire shop from now on and order not only groundcare equipment but equipment from our existing ranges."
The source added, "HSS will be exhibiting at SALTEX again this year."
