The Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa and Carnoustie Golf Links were honoured to play a part in Kevin Sinfield’s inspirational ‘7 in 7’ challenge, which continues to raise vital funds and awareness for those living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

On the fifth night of the challenge, the Carnoustie Golf Hotel and Spa welcomed Kevin and his incredible support crew, providing rooms, a hearty breakfast, and secure storage facilities to ensure they were fully prepared for the next leg of their journey. Kevin and his team also enjoyed dinner in Calder’s Restaurant, with the bill being picked up by local Architects firm, Brunton Design Studio.

The following morning (Saturday 6th December), the group set off from the iconic Carnoustie Golf Links, ready to tackle the penultimate day of this remarkable endurance event. Despite the wet weather, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and support as local residents gathered together to cheer Kevin and his team on, a moment that was even featured on BBC Breakfast, showcasing the incredible community spirit and support for this cause.

For the local residents waiting to see Kevin off, The Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa offered free hot drinks and a warm space for supporters to shelter from the cold. During this time, many supporters had the chance to connect with others who shared similar experiences with Motor Neurone Disease. These conversations provided comfort and a sense of solidarity, and for some, sparked new friendships that continued beyond the event.

Kevin Sinfield’s dedication to supporting his friend Rob Burrow and the wider MND community has captured hearts across the UK. His latest challenge – seven ultra-marathons in seven days – is a testament to resilience, teamwork, and compassion.

We were delighted to hear that the fundraising total exceeded Kevin’s target of £777,777 and that The Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa could play a part in this fantastic cause.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Kevin and his team for their incredible efforts and wish them continued success in their mission to raise funds in the fight against MND.
