Verti-Top Vac 1.jpgCharterhouse Turf Machinery is to present the Verti-Top Vac at Saltex on stand U22, offering groundsmen a new, cost effective solution for cleaning and maintaining sand and rubber infill synthetic sports surfaces. A unique vacuum system removes even fine particles, giving a cleaner, safer surface.

Part of a growing range of synthetic turf maintenance equipment, the Verti Top Vac is tractor mounted, like much of the range, allowing groundsmen to use existing power units.

Providing an economical alternative to bringing in a contractor to maintain synthetic surfaces, the Verti Top Vac also offers the opportunity to remove debris from pitches on a more regular basis, improving playing quality and prolonging the life of what can be a substantial investment.

The Verti Top Vac uses a large rotary brush to sweep the surface and collect material from within the carpet which is then placed on an oscillating sieve to separate debris from the infill. Larger pieces of debris move along the sieve into the collection hoper, while the infill is returned and brushed into the surface.

The unique vacuum effect takes place above the sieve, removing potentially harmful materials from the infill - other machines allow these materials to drop back onto the surface.

Adjustable tines at the front of the Verti-Top loosen and decompact the surface ahead of the brush for optimum cleaning, while a floating top link adapts to any undulations on the surface.

Working width is 1.5m, with a hopper capacity of 170 litres and dust collection bag of 20 litres. Sieve sizes of 3.2x3.2, 4x4, 5x5, 5.5x5.5 and 6x6mm can be specified for different types of infill, while a solid sieve allows the Verti Top Vac to be used for sweeping and collecting and weighs in at 500kg.

The Verti Top Vac joins an extensive range of pedestrian and tractor mounted machinery to groom, maintain and renovate synthetic surfaces, ensuring the highest possible playing quality and standards of hygiene.

Charterhouse Turf Machinery will also have a comprehensive offering of equipment for natural turf on display at Saltex. This includes the renowned Verti-Drain decompactors, Rink topdressers, overseeders and core collectors.

Soil Harmony is also an important part of the team to be represented at Windsor. Offering unique biodynamic products backed up by expert agronomic advice, Soil Harmony specialises in supplying nutritional solutions to improve turf quality and strength.
