County Mayo Greenkepers visit Ransomes Jacobsen

county mayo greenkeepers Five greenkeepers from clubs in County Mayo visited leading turf maintenance equipment manufacturer Ransomes Jacobsen's manufacturing plant in Ipswich recently. Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company.

Anne Gibbons of Ballinrobe, Michael Molloy of Ballinasloe, Joe Diskin of Claremorris together with John Garavan and Patrick Fadden of Westport were accompanied on the two day visit by Kevin Broderick and Robbie Foley from their local dealership Kevin Broderick Ltd.

The first day's itinerary included an overview of the global Textron organisation, Ransomes Jacobsen position within the Textron group and the company's product range of turf maintenance equipment, golf cars and golf course utility vehicles. The afternoon was devoted to a tour of the manufacturing plant, where they were able to see every process involved in the manufacture of modern mowing equipment.

The final day included a visit to Woodbridge Golf Club to view the greenkeeping facilities and see a selection of Ransomes Jacobsen equipment working on the course.

Kevin Broderick, who organised the visit, commented,
"We had a great trip; the factory tour was superb and the guys were able to see the build quality of the machines for themselves. They thoroughly enjoyed the visit to the golf club and the hospitality from Ransomes Jacobsen was superb."
