E-Z-GO RXV Golf car fleet for Rosapenna golf resort
The Rosapenna resort consists of 45 holes of golf, a golf pavilion and a four star, 66 bedroom hotel complete with leisure centre, all situated in 800 acres of pristine dunes. It can trace its history back to 1891, when Lord Leitrum invited Old Tom Morris to design the first links, which opened for play in 1893.
In November 2012, the owners - the Casey family - acquired an adjoining 36 holes set in a further 360 acres and formally known as the St Patrick's Golf Links. When integrated into the existing resort, Rosapenna will become the second largest golf links destination in Europe after St Andrews in Scotland.
"Our previous buggies were petrol cars from a rival manufacturer. They were getting a bit long in the tooth and reliability was becoming an issue, so we had a look at the current market offering and decided that the RXV was the car for us. I eventually ordered 15, five in Flame red for the golf course and 10 in Patriot blue for the hotel.
"The principal reason for selecting the RXV is its ability to complete 36 holes from a single overnight charge, especially important with the undulating dunes that we have here. Our golf cars have to do this as they are in great demand, so that was a prerequisite.
"I'm also particularly impressed with the onboard charger, the de-ioniser and the automatic battery fill system, which takes all the drudgery out of maintaining the batteries. They are an excellent vehicle and certainly complement our goal to be the premier links resort in Ireland."
